Most stoop settling is caused by soil erosion or poor compaction. Because stoops are often poured over the "backfill" soil used during your home's original construction, that loose soil can settle over time. Heavy rain or leaking gutters can also wash away the supporting dirt, creating "voids" or empty pockets underneath the slab.

Most stoop repairs are completed in 1 to 3 hours. Unlike a new concrete pour, which can take days to cure, you can walk on your leveled stoop immediately after we finish the job.

Unlike "mudjacking" (which uses heavy sand and cement), polyurethane foam is lightweight and waterproof. It won't wash away and it doesn't add significant weight to the soil. As long as the underlying soil issues are addressed (like fixing leaky gutters), the repair is considered a long-term solution.

Once the lift is complete, we fill the small injection holes with a custom-color-matched concrete grout. After a few weeks of weathering, these holes become nearly invisible.

If your handrails were "pulled" out of alignment by the sinking concrete, leveling the stoop often brings them back into their original position.

• If they are bolted in: They are usually solid immediately.

• If we had to reset them in grout: We may ask you to avoid putting heavy pressure on the railing for 24 hours to let the new anchoring cement harden.

Power Washing: Wait 24 hours to ensure the grout we used to patch the injection holes has fully cured.

Painting/Sealing: We recommend waiting 72 hours. This ensures all moisture from the cleaning and repair process has evaporated so your sealant or paint adheres properly.

For standard foot traffic and deliveries (like Amazon or FedEx), there is no wait time. If you have a very large move planned (e.g., movers carrying a heavy piano or appliances), we recommend waiting at least 1 hour just to ensure the foam has fully chemically bonded with the soil.
