Our process involves injecting a two-part liquid polyurethane polymer through small, penny-sized holes drilled into the concrete. Once injected, the liquid undergoes a chemical reaction that causes it to expand rapidly. It flows into every hidden crevice, compacts loose surrounding soil, and hardens into a dense, rock-solid structural foam within minutes.

Sometimes, when a void is exposed from the sides of the concrete, we can spray / inject directly via those exposed void areas as well.

Yes, absolutely. Once cured, our high-density polyurethane foam is completely inert. It will not leach harmful chemicals or toxins into the surrounding soil or groundwater. Additionally, because it doesn’t degrade, it won’t break down or release microplastics over time.

Injection can initially produce an off-gas you wouldn't want to directly inhale.  Our technicians use proper PPE and are certified in the poly injection process. But again: once cured, our high-density polyurethane foam is completely inert.  Foam will not produce any off-gasing once it's in it's foam state.  Our best analogy regarding this is wet paint.  You wouldn't directly inhale wet paint, but once the paint / foam is set - you don't need to worry about fumes.

Polyurethane foam is a permanent solution. It is completely waterproof, meaning it will never wash away, rot, or degrade due to moisture. Barring catastrophic geological shifts, the foam is designed to last for the entire lifespan of the concrete structure above it—typically several decades.

One of the biggest benefits of foam void filling is the near-instant cure time.

• Foot traffic: Immediate.

• Vehicle/Heavy machinery traffic: Usually within 15 to 30 minutes after the injection is complete. Unlike traditional concrete or mudjacking, there is no 24-to-48-hour waiting period.

Foam is superior to traditional mudjacking in almost every way.  However, specifically regarding void fills, these are the main differences:

Weight: Mudjacking uses a heavy slurry of mud, sand, and cement that can weigh up to 100 lbs per cubic foot, which often overburdens weak soil and causes more sinking. Our foam weighs only 2 to 4 lbs per cubic foot.  It's important to be mindful: The bigger the void, the heaver the fill for mudjacking. It's certainly not recommended to fill larger voids since the weight will usually pass a safe limit for future settlement.

Cleanliness: Mudjacking requires large 2-inch holes and can be very messy. Foam uses micro-holes and leaves zero mess. It's important to be mindful about void filling: The bigger the void, the more material required to fill the void, and a higher chance for messes.  

It's not an exact science, yet*.  There is no perfect technology or method that determines the size & depth of underground cavities.

Because every project varies by the size and depth of the underground cavity, costs are determined by the volume of material required to completely fill the space.

However, foam void filling is almost always 50% to 70% less expensive than tearing out and replacing the concrete, and it saves you days or weeks of costly downtime.
